Karen Molinar to Get the Boot

Who will lead the TEA takeover?

On January 31st, 2026, the TEA held in person interviews with a group of candidates numbering around 22. This group was made up of attorneys, bankers, and other community leaders. The interviews on the 31st included panel and observational interviews with TEA leadership. A selection of Board of Managers will be made from this group. They will be committing to a five year term (the minimum length of the takeover). Near the end of the takeover, if the TEA commissioners feels it appropriate, elected FWISD board members will be staggered on to the board.

Yes, there will still be FWISD trustee elections. However these will merely be ‘advisory’ positions. Frankly, anyone elected will have zero power. Your votes for these candidates only serves the purpose of satiating the electorate. It is a farce created by state legislation to make your vote still ‘count’. Although it does not. The TEA has taken any control away from the voters, although we still pay taxes to the district. It is the pureset form of election without representation.

We are going to call it now on February 3, 2026. Karen Molinar will be strung along and replaced as the Superintendent of the FWISD. In an effort to save her own skin (and income) without having to move from a city where she has lived for several decades, she will bow to the TEA and ‘get on board’. But what she won’t see coming is that the Commissioner is just stringing her along. All district decisions will be at the behest of Mike Morath once his lacky is named. We do not expect to ever see her speak out against the TEA during the wait. But sadly this will be a futile effort as we can’t see Morath not handing one of his buddies the gravy train of the position.

Within the next few weeks, we should have a statement from the TEA solidifying the names of who Mike Morath is appointing.
